The Latest from the Lungs

Wow!  Wendy and I (Loren) have been blown away by the great response to our needs/wish list.  A special thanks to the folks who sent us gifts to purchase the professional mixer.  We were able to purchase a six quart Kitchen Aid mixer with several attachments.  It makes short work of some time consuming jobs in the kitchen!  Thanks also to the individual who donated the tool kit with the cordless drill.  It has been very  helpful around the house.  We also want to thank the Boy Scouts of Beaufort and Tyrrell Counties, who collected and delivered canned goods to us.  We've also had several churches bring us paper goods, laundry soap, and cleaning supplies. Thank you all for your kind generosity!

We have kept warm and cozy on recent chilly winter days with the help of our big fireplace insert.  Boy, do we go through the wood!  Amanda and Michael are learning to split wood by hand.  We would love to have a chainsaw so we can clean up some trees that need to be thinned out on our property to use for firewood.

Spring has sprung this week, so we are cleaning up, mowing, trimming trees and bushes and repairing things that have taken the abuse of winter.  I am scheduling work groups to come for spring, summer and fall projects.  If you have a group that would like to come, please call me as soon as possible so we can secure dates, projects, materials and personnel  for your group.

Again, thank you for your kind generosity and support.  There are many needy children who are having troubles and just need a fresh start.  Your kindness allows us to give them a second chance, after all, our God is all about second chances!
