The Latest from the Lungs
April 2009
Dear Friends,
April has been a busy month with getting the garden out, cleaning up the pool, and the kids starting the summer sports schedule. Most of our days are spent outside. The kids have enjoyed the warm weather playing ball, riding skateboards, and running, running, running. Wendy and I too are grateful for the weather because it means the yelling and running is outdoors rather than under foot in the house!
If you haven't got a mission for VBS yet we want to encourage you to schedule us. We would love to come and talk about the ministry. Some of the projects that you may be able to help us with include getting our own used 5'-7' garden harrow disk, used 2 row bedder, a ladder, and a log splitter. These tools will help us produce more of our own garden fresh produce and cut our food cost. Last year we had some churches that collected paper towels and toilet tissue. This year we would like to encourage facial tissues (Kleenex), paper napkins, and garbage bags (30 gallon). This go along way to cutting our cost.
My weight loss had pretty much stalled at 180 pounds. At first I was disappointed because I am much more active than during the cold winter months. But then I noticed that some of my muscles were starting to tone up. Muscle does weigh more than fat. So I keep at the weight loss efforts knowing that I am learning to eat right and take better care of my body. It dumbfounds me that it took 40 some years for me to realize how important this is.
Thank you again for your support.
God Bless You,
Loren Harold Lung
