The Latest from the Lungs
August 2008
Dear Friends,
For vacation this year we were able to take the kids and stay at Myrtle Beach. It was really nice but there were so-o-o-o many people there. We took the children to the Aquarium and it was great. Treva's favorite part of vacation was the night we had ice cream. We were staying at a resort across from the Hard Rock Park and so every night at 10p.m. we had our own fireworks show. It was a really good time.
We want to welcome a new girl here at Open Door. Here name is Ashley. We are looking forward to working with Ashley and getting to know her. Ashley loves cats, works hard, and is a joy to be around. Welcome to Open Door!
The board of directors voted in July that all the residents of Open Door Christian Ministries must attend public school. New residents will no longer have the option of being home-schooled. This represents a significant change in the policy at Open Door and also changes some of the publicity that we have put out in the pasted. Many supporters ask questions about home-school and we thought you should be aware of the change. There will also be no need to send box-tops or labels as we will no longer be able to use these items.
If you have a cabin, time-share, or vacation home that you wouldn't mind donating for a week next year the board would be very appreciative in helping us to cut expenses.
God Bless You,
Loren Harold Lung
