The Latest from the Lungs

December 2007

Dear Friends,

What a wonderful Thanksgiving shared around the big table at Open Door Christian Ministries. Thomas was the only child who was able to go home for Thanksgiving so we had a big crowd of kids here. Donovin, Treva, and Brenton's mother was able to be here. Plus we had Daniel and his fiancée, Lee Ann, here as well. The table was filled with a bountiful blessing of turkey, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, corn and more. We even had a homemade pumpkin pie.

It is at Thanksgiving that we remember the blessings that came our way this past year. We thank the Lord for the new pool we received. We thank the Lord for the churches who support us as well as all the people who have blessed us with visits, food items for the pantry, gifts for the home, and the help they provide through service projects and more. God has blessed us so much this past year. It is great to have a house that is full and alive with the sounds of happy children playing.

I thank the Lord that the new medicine I am on has helped my back a whole lot. I am finally able to really do the things I love (with limitations of course).

We are really looking forward to the Christmas season. There have already been several churches who have called wanting to help out. There have also been those who have been to the website to get our Christmas wish-list.

We finished off the month by putting up the tree and began decorating the house for the season. Daniel, Lee Ann, Thomas, Michael, Olivia, and Logan worked to put up the outside lights in the trees down the drive (It looks great). We have tried to take a picture for the annual Christmas Card but the first ones didn't turn out. We'll keep at it.

We hope that you have had a great Thanksgiving too. May God bless you this month as you prepare for Christmas. Don't forget the reason for the season. Jesus was born in Bethlehem to bring the gift of salvation to you and I (Praise God)!

God Bless You,

Loren Harold Lung
