Dear Friends,
June is the start of summer. There are so many things going on in the summer that it is hard to keep up. There is always mowing to do, driver’s education, camp, VBS, work projects, revival, and tending the garden.
June is the start of the Vacation Bible School Season and we are already getting lots of responses from churches who want Open Door as their mission project. This year we are collecting money to put in a pool here at home. The pool project seems to go well with this year’s Standard VBS program. It’s a water theme.
We are looking forward to the getting the pool in for several reasons. One, it makes a great incentive for the children to get their chores and school work accomplished and to be on good behavior. Two, it’s nice to have when youth groups or visitors come to see the home. We always enjoy company and now they can come and swim with the kids and get to know them better. Three, After a hard day of work in the garden or doing yard work it is just nice to have a place to cool off.
June is also the start of camp season and I am looking forward to helping Mike Caton with First Junior camp. I love to see all the kids and tell them of the ministry here at Open Door. They always seem excited and enjoy helping us out.
The kids here at the home are looking forward to going to camp as well. It gives them a break from us and helps them in their walk with the Lord. I think they like meeting new friends too.
God Bless You,
Loren and Wendy Lung
