Dear Friends,
We had a lot of rain last night and the back yard is flooded. The change of weather has brought on a bit of gout in my ankle. It has slowed me down but has not counted me out. I'm looking forward to summer garden vegetables to help me fight off this affliction. I guess this is one of my "thorns in the flesh". Eat better, exercise, and stay away from sweets... one of these days I'll learn.
Logan and Joy are adjusting to the life at Open Door and doing good. They sometimes fight and tease each other like sisters. They are learning to work things out.
BREAKING NEWS: Olivia has her room looking nice and she is keeping it that way! Yeah!
Thomas was excited to get to go out to eat with his father and siblings last evening. His father is in Mississippi waiting for his ship to be built. Thomas won't be able to see him again until August.
Michael is doing well. He is shooting up and thinning out.
We are really loving the warm weather we have had these last few days. It is great not having to keep the fire going in the fireplace and the kids getting out and riding bikes, playing football or soccer, and just blowin' the winter stink off.
All this warm weather has gotten us thinking about summer. One thing that we really want to do is put in a swimming pool for the kids. We had a really nice one that was donated and installed a years ago. After years of use it was in need of a few repairs and wasn't filled with water. Then three falls ago the hurricane came through and ripped it apart. What we would really like to do is to get one the same size and put it up in the same place. The decking that was put in with the original pool is still in good shape. I am praying that we will receive a good response from the churches and be able to put the pool in before the weather gets really hot. This would make a good project for VBS missions, Sunday School classes, or camp missions. It would also make a good memorial or honorarium gift.
Please be praying for the kids as they get ready for End of Grade Testing coming up in May.
God Bless You,
Loren Harold Lung
