The Latest from the Lungs

Dear Friends,
I love being invited to churches to preach or to share the ministry of Open Door. This month I was blessed with being able to preach a night of revival at Gospel Fellowship Church in Tarboro. It was good to see old friends again and to share the gospel message. It was a real blessing to see what our fellow Christians are doing in Tarboro.
The summer plague has struck again. So far we have had two water leaks to fix in the back yard. The old black pipe and gear clamps is wearing out. But I think we are going to get it licked this summer. I have a workgroup that is coming in July who said they would help me dig a trench and replace most of the old waterline. We also plan on running a new line to the pool so we don't have to have the hose drug out across the yard.
The Future Planning Committee (The Dream Team) has finished up the vision and goals for the near future. Those plans will be discussed at the July Board meeting. I am really excited to see them setting a vision and putting some goals in action.
We have already scheduled some Vacation Bible School groups this summer. This year we have activity sheets as well as our DVD and display. Some of the groups are collecting goods such as facial tissues, napkins, paper towels, and garbage bags to go along with the offering. We are trying to come to each VBS at least one night and more if we have the time. We would love to come see your group. Give us a call!
We were blessed with a workgroup from Genena Park Church of Christ in Chesapeake, VA. this month. They brought us some exercise equipment which we are putting to good use. They also fixed up the chicken coop and tore out some rotten wood from the stable. We appreciate these dedicated young men and women and their help in keeping Open Door running smoothly.
Thank you again for your support.
God Bless You,
Loren Harold Lung
