The Latest from the Lungs

November 2007

Dear Friends,

The old washing machine finally bit the dust. It had been giving us fits for a while and racking up the repair bills. We have two and when one is down the laundry really piles up. The oldest one started making a terrible noise a few weeks ago. The transmission was shot and would cost more than it was worth to replace it. We got approval from the board to get a new one. Have you priced washers lately? Wow. But after some shopping and a whole lot of consumer research we found one that was perfect for our needs. Carla and Wendy made a day trip up to Norfork to get it. The board was meeting that night so we had some hands to help us unload it and set it up. It sure is nice. (Thanks!)

We have also been having some problems with the stove top that could become a potential fire hazard. We are out looking at prices and seeing what is a good value. Long range we are looking at modifications to the kitchen. Anyone who has spent time in our kitchen knows that it is too small for the amount of people here at the home. We are looking at what it would cost to expand the kitchen into the office space. That would possibly ad another 8-10 feet to the length of the kitchen. We are just in the "dream" stage of this project of this project and looking into the feasibility of it.

Richard Smartnick has been putting new faucets in the bathrooms and kitchen. The old ones are leaking and dripping and just plain ugly. We have had the new faucets in storage even before Wendy and I arrived but putting them on had not been a priority until lately. We appreciate Richard and his plumbing expertise.

Preston Sexton and Leon Williams have been busy working on the doors to the kids room. We are putting locks on the doors so when the kids go home for visits their rooms can be locked so no one will "get in their stuff" while their gone. Thanks Preston for your help with the doors as well as the great work you have done in Unit 2.

It's getting close to Thanksgiving and the kids are looking forward too it. Some of the kids will be getting to make a visit home for the holiday. We are also looking forward to spending the day with our relatives and friends. We have a lot to be thankful for this year.

Christmas is coming too. The kids have been busy putting their Christmas lists together (See a partial Christmas List on this website). We are also planning on taking our annual Christmas picture soon. We have already had a couple of calls for list and dates to come visit the kids. If you would like to come or purchase gifts please call us to make arrangements.

Here is wishing you a very nice thanksgiving day! Please remember us in your prayers.

God Bless You,

Loren Harold Lung
