Dear Friends,

Once again I must say thank-you from the bottom of my heart to the gracious outpouring of love that you have bestowed on us this month. It has indeed been a good month. We thank-you so much for the great response to Open Door Day. Some of the churches could not do it in September and decided to do it on another date either this month or next. That's great. Some churches responded with offerings or special gifts. Some responded with kind words of encouragement. And some responded with food for our pantry, special work projects, or even goodies for the kids. But the blessings that mean even more were the wonderful prayers offered to God on behalf of the kids, staff, and directors. 

I am really looking forward to the Annual Appreciation Dinner that will be held on the 11th of this month. It will be a great time of sharing and thanksgiving for all that God has done to help this ministry through the generous support, love, kindness, and prayers that you have offered on our behalf. God has great plans for Open Door and I can't wait to see what is next. The music will start at 2:00 p.m. and the food will be served at 4:00 p.m. 

Special thanks for the wonderful cards that were sent to us from the kids at Wilkinson Church of Christ. They were very encouraging. We really appreciate the thought and consideration that went into making each card. God bless you.

This weekend we will have about 35 people from First Christian Church in Kernersville here to help us with some great projects. If all goes well the kids will get a play-fort out of the deal. The group also plans on doing painting, landscaping, cleaning, electrical work, some plumbing, and who knows what else. We really look forward to seeing old friend from Kernersville and meeting new ones.

Please be praying for the ministry and the vision for the future. These are trying and uncertain times. But God specializes in doing great things when the rest of the world says its not possible.
