“What has Open Door meant to me?  To start off, Open Door has provided me with a Christian environment that I would not have received where I was before.  Secondly, Open Door has kept me out of trouble that, if left alone, I would have been in.  Also, Open Door has given me a family structure, closer than my own, that has meant the most to me.  Along with a family, I was provided with an awesome father-figure and a great mother-figure.”

 Another wrote, “Open Door took me in and cared for me when I had no where else to turn.  My house parents have been the largest, most positive influence in my life.  Everything I have accomplished is a result of their belief in me.  Their support and love taught and showed me that life is worthwhile, and that there are things worth living for.  They helped unveil my eyes to see God, and helped unveil my heart to know Him.  I wouldn’t be who I am today if it weren’t for them, and to them I am forever grateful.  Wherever my life takes me, my love will be with them always.”

 Still another writes, “When I was married, people think it was the end of my Open Door experience.  Far from it – Open Door is still my home, and the children are my brothers and sisters, the house parents are my family.  I am still welcome whether 7:00 a.m. in the morning or 10:00 p.m. at night.  Now I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful children.”
